The Federal Circuit has provided us with the following guidance on product-by-process claims.

Product-by-process claims are not specifically discussed in the patent statute. The practice and governing law have developed in response to the need to enable an applicant to claim an otherwise patentable product that resists definition by other than the process by which it is made. For this reason, even though product-by-process claims are limited by and defined by the process, determination of patentability is based on the product itself. [citations omitted].  The patentability of a product does not depend on its method of production. In re Pilkington, 411 F.2d 1345, 1348, 162 USPQ 145, 147 (CCPA 1969). If the product in a product-by-process claim is the same as or obvious from a product of the prior art, the claim is unpatentable even though the prior product was made by a different process. Precedent illustrates that the determination of what is needed to support generic claims to biological subject matter depends on a variety of factors, such as the existing knowledge in the particular field, the extent and content of the prior art, the maturity of the science or technology, the predictability of the aspect at issue, and other considerations appropriate to the subject matter.

Capon v. Eshhar, 418 F.3d 1349, 1359 (Fed. Cir. 2005).

Here, Anderson demonstrates that, at the time the instant application was filed, people of ordinary skill in the art recognized that "A-type doubly linked procyanidin oligomers of the catechins and/or epicatechins," as recited in the claims, referred to a group of compounds having defined structures. The Specification therefore did not need to describe the structure of those compounds in order to show possession of the claimed method. Cf Capon v. Eshhar, 418 F.3d at 1358 ("The Board's rule that the nucleotide sequences of the chimeric genes must be fully presented, although the nucleotide sequences of the component DNA are known, is an inappropriate generalization. When the prior art includes the nucleotide information, precedent does not set a per se rule that the information must be determined afresh.").

[E]ven if the practical limits of any of the claimed ranges change in the future, the Examiner cites no authority that this possibility renders the claimed ranges indefinite. In that regard, the ordinary meaning of a claim term at the time of the invention controls. SAS Institute, Inc. v. ComplementSoft, LLC, 825 F.3d 1341, 1347 (Fed. Cir. 2016) ("Claim construction seeks to ascribe the meaning to claim terms as a person of ordinary skill in the art at the time of invention would have understood them."). Although the ranges cited by the Examiner may be broadly claimed, the Examiner does not persuade us that the claim language is unclear and we do not sustain the rejection.
